The 2024 Workplace: Elevating Experiences with Local Food

Complete with the latest 2024 employee survey data and trends, this guide is designed to help you transform your workplace into one that resonates with the expectations and values of today’s modern workforce.

Silicon Valley can be a tough place to grab a quick, delicious lunch. The area in and around San Jose, California, might be a global hub of technology and innovation, but it simply wasn’t designed with hungry, variety-starved workers in mind. Just the thought of dealing with lunch-rush traffic is enough to drive even the most food-loving office workers towards the nearest vending machine.

Sure, there’s still the old reliables — ordering delivery and brown bagging it  — but that’s a grim fate for workers who already feel chained to their desks. If only there was some solution befitting the Silicon Valley ethos, perhaps a tech-minded startup with a new and exciting way to bring fresh, delicious, locally made food into the workplace.

Good news! Pop-up versions of San Jose’s best restaurants are now setting up shop and serving employees inside corporate office buildings. The concept, which is new to The Silicon Valley, may just disrupt the lunch break status quo. Fooda is coming to San Jose.

What is Fooda? We’re a Chicago-based company that has provided millions of pop-up restaurant meals in workplaces from New York City to Los Angeles. San Jose is the ninth metropolitan area we’ve expanded to, and our second in California.

Sound too good to be true? Don’t just take our word for it.

“We are very excited to partner with Fooda to serve good food to hard working people in Silicon Valley, directly in their office buildings,” says Chef John Ladas of Our House, a chef-driven restaurant and slow-food movement leader in San Jose. “Fooda is a company that aligns well with our values and vision. We’re looking forward to providing healthy, well-balanced meals to people who didn’t previously have access to quality options at work.”

In addition to supporting local restaurants, we hope our expansion into the San Jose market will also contribute to the city in other ways, from providing a platform for up-and-coming chefs to reducing the amount of cars on the road during the daily lunch rush.

We hope you’ll agree that Fooda is a smart workplace dining solution for a city built on innovation. We’re thrilled to be a part of this tech-loving, foodie-filled community.
