In 2011, a group of colleagues at a Chicago logistics company realized they had a problem. Employees headed out everyday at noon in search of reasonable restaurant food. But there weren’t many options around.

Then, an idea was born: Instead of hundreds of employees leaving the building for lunch, why not bring restaurants into the building to serve lunch? That’s how Fooda started.

What came next was hundreds of companies ready to mix up their daily lunch routine, forward-thinking restaurants that were excited to try something new, and lot of hard work from the ever-growing Fooda team.

It’s been six years since we started, and Fooda is now putting authentic restaurants directly in front of 18,000 hungry office workers in ten cities across the country per day. Our restaurant partners have served 10 million meals and counting.

Thanks the support of our Fooda partners, we were just ranked the sixth fastest growing company in Chicago.

We took some time to celebrate our new award, but we’re back to focusing on the future. It’s Fooda’s first time landing on the Crain’s Chicago Business Fast 50 list, and we’d like to make it again. So we’re constantly looking at new markets to find Fooda’s next perfect fit. This year alone we’ve launched in Dallas, San Jose, and Houston, and there are more to come before 2018.
