New Fooda Price Index draws on millions of transactionsacross 270 cities as the cost of lunch at work rises approximately 5% year overyear
Chicago, IL(May 12, 2026) – Fooda (“theCompany”), a workplace food platform, today announced the launch of the Fooda Price Index (FPI). TheFPI tracks the price of lunch and offers historical and current insight into aworkplace cost that impacts millions of workers.
The FPI iscalculated by reviewing the average price paid by consumers at checkout formeals at their workplaces across 270 cities. The data comes from Fooda’sproprietary point-of-sale application and includes both credit card and cashtransactions. The index is calculated by dividing total transaction value bythe total number of transactions and is updated quarterly.
