Clarks is a family-owned shoe company that’s been in business for nearly 200 years. It’s based in England, but its products are a mainstay on shoe racks in the United States, and have been since the 1950’s. Clarks Americas is based in Waltham, Massachusetts, where they moved in 2016 from their previous home of almost 20 years in Newton, Massachusetts.

The old Newton headquarters was in an area with many other businesses, Clarks’ employees routinely went out during the lunch hour to get a meal or run errands.

One perk of the company’s new Waltham location is a rooftop terrace that offers views of mature trees on rolling hills. The area surrounding the new office building has less commercial activity than they’re used to, so Clarks began looking for a way to ensure employees had quick, easy access to a mid-day meal.

The company began exploring different options for their new space: a cafeteria, food trucks, a c-store. But every option came with a disadvantage.

Then, Clarks began a partnership with Fooda, a meal service that brings different restaurants into corporate offices to serve lunch.

Fast forward to almost a year later, and Clarks employees are still enjoying Fooda. On average, over 15% of the company chooses to get Fooda for lunch when its restaurants pop up.
